Clémence Elman
By crossing sociology and popular culture, she creates offbeat visual universes mixing stagings and archives. From the personal to the political, her friends and family become starting points allowing her to play with societal projections, myths and collective fantasies. She was selected for the 35th edition of the Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival at Villa Noailles, as well as for the Athens Photo Festival. She exhibited her work as part of the Dior Prize for Photography and Visual Arts 2021 at Luma Arles, at La Villette, in Paris and for the Polyptyque Prize at the Centre Photographique Marseille. She also received the Eurazeo grant and the Sud Emergence Prize for the co-directed short film Tornerò in the frame of the OVNI festival in Nice.
