With another long durational session consisting of DJ sets played by multiple local and international music lovers, school continues to celebrate the musical production of womxn, from the early beginnings until now. One could also say: from the mystical and liturgical chants of the medieval nun Hildegard von Bingen to Meadow Le´ Elle’s operatic punk tracks, produced on iPhone. Being a ritual rather than a party, we point out blanks in the history of musical production, bring rarely heard voices to the foreground and thereby create solid moments that neutralize current affairs and enhance our living reality.

school is a space and collective founded by Yasmina Haddad and Andrea Lumplecker in 2011. The school’s main series focuses on the screening as a frame, and defines a specific realm within selected artistic positions that employ performative strategies, often using sound to relate to (political) realities.
