Al Hassan Elwan: Gesamtkunstvibe

Lecture

12/06 @ 7pm
SKD Prosvjeta
Preradovićeva 21-23, Zagreb

The lecture is part of the CROSS-LOOKING program.

This talk traces the unorthodox afterlife of Wagner's "total work of art", from Boris Groys's critique of social realism to the algorithmic present, and argues that we've arrived at a form of aesthetic totality more complete than anything the twentieth century managed or imagined. From Wagner's opera house to The Apprentice to the phone's Stage 5 Simulacra.
