The 4th international photography festival Organ Vida announces its juried open call for documentary photography

Submissions are accepted from March 5th till May 1st , 2012.

The 4th international photography festival Organ Vida will be held at a new location this year – in the cinema ‘Europa’ in the centre of Zagreb, while the exhibition will be held in an art gallery. The festival will last for two days, 15th and 16th of June, 2012.

Considering the broad range of ways in which photography can be used as a tool for documenting social, political and daily life events as well as human behavior, this year’s international photography festival Organ Vida looks forward to presenting a wide selection of works from the field of documentary photography understood in its broadest sense.

The open call will run from March 5th till May 1st 2012. The list of works selected for the exhibition will be published May 20th at the festival website.

In order to be eligible for this open call, the documentary photography series must consist of a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of twenty (20) photographs. The series must be accompanied by a short description. All photographers over 18, from Croatia and abroad, are welcome to apply.

The selected works will be displayed at a gallery space during the festival The finalists and the award winners will be selected by an international jury of 5 professional photographers. The names of the members of the jury will be published soon at the festival website.

The winner of the first prize will receive an award and an acknowledgement of the Organ Vida festival.

Beside the new locations (cinema Europa and an art gallery), the Organ Vida festival has a new visual identity as well – thanks to the multidisciplinary creative studio Stožer. The new visual identity is designed to separate the Organ Vida association from the international photography festival of the same name, and thus facilitate the communication and promotion of the festival (which is held annually in Zagreb since 2009).
